Organisation purpose / activities
The Trust is set up to build and support the livelihood of marginalized women through education, skill development, employment and entrepreneurship for women for the welfare of the community at large without discrimination on the basis of caste, creed etc. and the primary objects of the Trust are –
1. To provide training/ skill development to women in informal sector to help them create a sustainable source of income and certify them.
2. To promote traditional art and culture that includes handloom and handicrafts, farming and sericulture and to create livelihood opportunities for women from the same to encourage responsible production and consumption;
Impact assessment
– 10000 high filtration masks distributed to low income families and children in Mahadevpura constituency of East Bengaluru and across other parts of Bengaluru – safety ensured during second and third waves of Covid 19 in 2021
– 9 Female tailors in Kannamangala and Yamalur displaced by Covid 19 supported earned an average income of at least Rs 5500 from August- December working 3 hrs/26 days
– 9 women weavers of Kodiyala (Near Mysore) and Assam supported with an average income of Rs 3000
– Skill development training and mentoring imparted to 12 women tailor beneficiaries on cutting, stitching and finishing. These women will be able to set up their own micro business going forward and continue livelihood generation
Extent of focus in Bengaluru
We are supporting a beneficiary base of 10 tailors in Bengaluru in FY21-22 and 45 Tailors/artisans are planned in 2022-23
