Organisation purpose / activities

Agastya International Foundation is a charitable education trust that runs one of the world’s largest mobile hands-on science education programs for economically disadvantaged children and teachers. Through all its programs, Agastya has reached over 17 million children and 2,50,000 teachers in 21 states across India. By making practical, hands-on science education accessible to rural government schools, Agastya aims to transform the thinking of underprivileged children and teachers through different programs.

Impact assessment

Impact Assessment is a key part of Agastya Operations and is one of the very few organizations to have an in-house impact assessment team to measure and evaluate impact and operation processes of Agastya programs which caters to nearly 1.5 million students in government schools every year.

Impact of Agastya programs are measured on four parameters: Curiosity, Awareness, Confidence (behaviors) and Subject knowledge (Science, Math, Digital Literacy). Based on rigorous literature review and alignment with Agastya’s vision, these parameters have been defined as:
