Organisation purpose / activities
Enfold aims to address gender-based violence and sexual abuse, through education, awareness, rehabilitative support for survivors of child sexual abuse, and restorative processs with childen in schools and the juvenile justice system. Enfold has a Board of Trustees and a Managing Committee. It has 4 on-field teams supported by a Finance, Administration and Operations team.
Enfold’s Prevention team has been working towards addressing and preventing child sexual abuse across multiple platforms through age-appropriate, value-based Personal Safety and Comprehensive Sexuality Education programs.
The Support and Rehabilitation team provides support services to children and families who report sexual abuse, right from the time of reporting of the abuse, through the various procedures in the medical and criminal justice system, focussing on enabling child survivors of sexual abuse to live with dignity, access justice and healing.
The Restorative Practices team has been actively using Restorative Practices to build and strengthen community, impart social and emotional learning, address misbehavior or harm, and repair relationships within the Juvenile Justice System and in schools.
The Research team works on issues of child protection to advance children’s rights and implementation of laws
Impact assessment
As on 31st March 2021, Enfold had sensitized over 2,07,353 children in 755 schools, Colleges and Child Care Institutions; 59,783 parents, teachers and support staff (this includes 1,886 adults reached under Enfold’s Suvidha Project for persons with disability); 5,953 police, doctors and judiciary personnel, 496 Government Officials, JJB members, and Child Care Institution staff and 7,225 social workers and counsellors all over India
Extent of focus in Bengaluru
Enfold focus is on educational institutions, Child care institutions, Government staff training, Corporate trainings on POSH and CSA, NSS volunteers, Child survivors of sexual abuse, stakeholders such as police, medical personnel, prosecutors , NGOs.
