The Warsi Brothers, Nazeer Ahmed Khan and Naseer Ahmed Khan, are Hyderabad-based Qawwals deeply rooted in the Delhi gharana’s melodic and improvisational traditions. Trained by their father Ustad Zaheer Ahmed Khan Warsi and grandfather Padma Shri Aziz Ahmed Khan Warsi, they excel in Sufiana Qawwali, Ghazal, Thumri, Bhajan, and classical Bandish.
Descended from Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and court musicians of the Mughals and Nizam of Hyderabad, their music combines a 900-year-old heritage with contemporary influences. Renowned for compositions by Amir Khusro, Bulleh Shah, and Kabir Das, they received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2014 for their contributions to Qawwali.
