Yugm

Yugm is an amalgamation of the ideology by Abhishek and Mayank which resonates through music. They are an independent folk-fusion band formed in Jaipur. Their performance is part of their “Parchi India Tour”. “This song is very close to our hearts as the song  talks about old school love. Using our favorite tool lyric writing ‘satire’ we created a window to see how we used to express love and how can a Parchi (a slip or a letter) generate an emotion. This song celebrates the innocence and efforts we put in love.” – Yugm.

About the band:

While both Mayank and Abhishek were performing separately at a very early stages of their lives, their paths crossed while busking in Jaipur and they laid the foundation of Yugm in 2016. Their songs cover a wide range of topics prevailing social issues like water scarcity, menstruation taboo, satire and much more. While they explore a lot of music, they are also deeply inspired by bands like Indian Ocean, Kabir Cafe and Swarathma.

They believe that music is an effective form of expression and it should have a purpose; that is why they emphasize and are critical about their lyrics.
