We know the freedom struggle’s great names, its fighters, and its stars. But there are many more influences that often get lost in the stories. This performance traces the people Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi met along his journey: the lesser-known encounters, quiet and easily overlooked, who helped turn him into the great man history remembers.

Through song, anecdote, and lore, the performance unpacks the word itself. Mahatma. It asks what this title might still mean today, in a world so far removed from the one that first gave it to him. What does it really take to turn a man into a Mahatma?
