Eastern Mosaic, is a group that brings together the realms of Indian Classical, world, and Spiritual music to create a unique experience. These artists from both North and South Indian Classical music, collaborate in presenting compositions that push the boundaries of traditional genres.

They have Denis Kucherov, on the melodic percussion handpan and live looping, Malvica Chopra on sitar and Mahesh Vinayakram, the son of Ghatam Master, Vikku Vinayakram. They will imbue the concert with a blend of rhythms and melodies.

Mahesh Vinayakram

Vocals

Mahesh Vinayakram is the son of the renowned Ghatam Master, Vikku Vinayakram. He has recently been handpicked by Cirque du Soleil as the first Indian male singer from the Karnatic music tradition to join their ensemble. This marks Mahesh as the very first male singer ever cast in a Cirque du Soleil performance.

As a UNESCO Millennium award-winner, he has shared the stage with musical legends such as Ustad Zakir Hussain, Steve Smith, Talvin Singh, and A R Rahman. He has over 125 singles to his credit.

Denis Kucherov

Handpan & Tabla

Denis Kucherov, hailing from Russia and based in England, is known for his diverse range of musical talents. As the creator of the Eastern Mosaic, he has captivated audiences with his percussion skills and compositions with his unique instruments as handpan and tabla. His expertise extends beyond traditional Indian and oriental music, as he has collaborated with renowned philharmonic orchestras and artists such as Tony Levin (King Crimson), Farukh Ruzimatov, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Deva Premal, Grammy winner Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and voice of Azerbaijan – Alim Gasimov.

In addition to his collaborations, Denis has also produced the Dairafest festival in St. Petersburg. This festival showcases a blend of cultural performances that celebrate the richness of music from around the world.

 

Malvica Chopra

Malvica Chopra is an Indian Classical Sitarist, Performer-Composer and a senior (Gandabandh) disciple of Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee, Pt. Nayan Ghosh. Having started her musical journey at the age of 11, Malvica has dedicated her life to the practice of and being a student of Hindustani Classical Music. She is an empanelled artist with The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt. of India.
