Performers
In celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava, this concert is a musical exploration of the state’s sacred geography and the enduring traditions it has nurtured. Featuring vachanas, dasa sahitya, and folk compositions, the live performance weaves narration and visual storytelling into a journey across a thousand years. What does a song become when we know the temple, the poet, or the deity behind it?
Temples were never only places of worship. They were centres of artistic expression, learning, and community. Around them music, poetry, and life flourished. From ancient shrines and temple towns to the vibrant cultural life of modern Bengaluru, the programme traces how those spaces shaped the songs we still sing. Music connects us across time and space, to places, people, and stories that are at once familiar and unexpected.
This programme is part of “Krishna to Kaveri,” a two-day celebration of Karnataka’s arts and culture taking place over Diwali weekend, on the seventh and eighth of November. Scheduled ahead of the main festival days, it offers an early taste of what is to come.
