Samyoga – Khayal Se Kriti Tak

Manasi Prasad is combination of accomplished musician, eloquent orator, and arts management professional. A noted Carnatic classical vocalist of Bangalore, Manasi has learnt music from renowned gurus such as Vidwan RK Padmanabha in Bangalore and Dr. Sriram Parasuram in Chennai. She started performing concerts at the age of 9 and since then has performed widely across India and in 6 continents around the world.

Manasi is a recipient of several awards in music, including the prestigious Bismillah Khan  Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Shanmukhananda Yuva Kalakar  Puraskar, Rotary-Brigade Young Achievers Award and others. She is AIR Graded and empanelled with ICCR. Manasi is known for making classical music relevant to varied audiences and has presented theme-based concerts, fusion music, jugal bandhis and lecture-demonstrations on various subjects.

Manasi holds an engineering degree and MBA degree from IIM Bangalore. She was the first museum director and current Board Member of the Indian Music Experience Museum. She has been awarded Fellowships of the TED Organization and the Aspen Global Leadership Network and has been recognised as one of the 35 ‘Indians of Tomorrow’ by the India Today publications.

Dr. Radhika Joshi is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist, trained under Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar, a senior disciple of Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar. She has also studied semi-classical forms like Thumri, Kajri, Hori, and Dadra under Padmabhushan Smt. Girija Devi at the Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata.

She has performed at renowned festivals and institutions, including Ustad Abdul Karim Khan Smriti Samiti, Deval Club, and Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, and is a graded artist of All India Radio. As part of the G20 celebrations, she was invited by AIR to present a special semi-classical concert for Akashwani and Doordarshan. A recipient of the National Scholarship for Performing Arts, she is also the founder of Jaipur Gunijankhana, a Pune-based archive dedicated to documenting and preserving Hindustani music, for which she received the Museum and Research Fellowship from the India Foundation for the Arts.

Beyond music, Radhika holds a master’s in economics from Tufts University and a PhD from IIM Bangalore, but her deep commitment to her artistic heritage led her to pursue music full-time.

Vishwajith Mattur, a professional violin artist has been performing and accompanying several young and senior musicians for the past 15 years across the country and abroad. He continues  to learn from Shri Hosahalli K Subbarao and Shri Hosahalli V Raghuram belonging to the Lalgudi School Bani. He also learns vocal music from Smt. Rajeshwari Nagendra Prakash and Shri R N Thyagarajan.

Surya Updhayaya is a Harmonium artist who started his initial training under Sri. Ananth Bhagwath and then went on to train with Pandit Ravindra Katoti. He has accompanied several senior and young musicians in performances.

Anoor Vinod Shyam is a 5th generation who has been performing for over 15 years on a variety of Indian percussions such as Tabla, Dholak, Pakhawaj, Dholki, Khanjira and others. He started learning Mridangam at the tender age of 10 under Rudrapatnam Satyakumar and is currently training under his father, Vidwan Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma. He is an ‘A’ graded Artist of All india Radio and Doordarshan. He is the recipient of ‘Raga Laya prabha’ – 2022 from Srirama Lalita kala mandira. He won the Kalavantha – The best Mridangist Prize during the Kalavanta series in 2015, organised by the Karnataka Fine Arts Council. In 2018, he performed with the prestigious hr-Bigband, during the Frankfurt jazz festival.

Adarsh started his training in Tabla at the tender age of 8 under Sri Nagaraj Rao Gaikwad, who built in him a strong foundation of the basics of the Delhi and Ajrada Gharanas. Later he undertook training in the Faroukhabad style under Pandit Rajgopal Kallurkar from the year 1999. At present he is receiving advanced lessons from Pt. Yogesh Samsi of Mumbai. Adarsh was fortunate to be born in a music loving family to Sri Satish and Smt. Shwetha Shenoy, who took immense interest in grounding into him the importance of music at a very early age. Adarsh’s musical inclination was further strengthened by his elder brother Sri Abhijith Shenoy who is a very able Hindustani Classical Vocalist. Adarsh constantly accompanies his brother in all his concerts and the duo have given over 500 concerts together and carved a niche for them in the Hindustani Music Circuit.

Adarsh entered the concert arena at a very young age and has been the preferred choice for many vocalists and instrumentalists. He was one of the youngest Tabla players to be awarded with a B-High grade by the All India Radio, Bangalore at the age of 18. He has given many programs on the Radio and TV. Adarsh is also a recipient of many scholarships like the CCRT scholarship from the Govt. of India, scholarship from the State govt. of Karnataka and the Sursagar Scholarship. He was awarded the Best Junior Tabla Player award by the Sri Rama Seva Mandali, Fort High School.
