Based on the National Award-winning animated film in Malayalam, Kandittund!

Strange creatures lurk in the dark night of a Kerala village, and this 93-year-old claims to have seen them all. Inspired by his father – incorrigible fabricator, dazzling raconteur, P. N. K. Panicker himself! – Suresh Eriyat set out to make an animation film like “an instruction manual for ghosts”. Adithi Krishnadas drew up an illustrative style like a graphic novel, and the hilarious film turned into exactly that. This English adaptation carries the oral flavour of the original spook stories… and out prance Kuttichathans and Eenampechis to send some spicy shivers down the spine!

Join us for a talk & Q&A with PNK Panicker, Suresh Eriyat and Aditi Krishnadas. It will be accompanied by a screening of films inspired by Panicker’s stories.

P. N. K. Panicker

Storyteller Extraordinaire

P. N. K. Panicker, fondly called Appuppan (grandfather) by his fans, is a 95-year-old maestro of oral storytelling. His vivid tales have inspired acclaimed films like Kandittund! (Seen It) and The Legend of Arana, directed by Adithi Krishnadas and created by Studio Eeksaurus. Father to Suresh Eriyat, founder of Studio Eeksaurus, Panicker represents a fading art form, weaving fantasies with unmatched conviction. His sharp memory and captivating narration continue to mesmerize audiences, making him a cherished custodian of a nearly lost craft.
