The documentary Sakalarigu Samruddhi chronicles the empowering journey of small and marginal farmers adopting sustainable agriculture practices, overcoming cycles of crop loss, debt, and environmental degradation.

The documentary showcases the transformative power of organic farming, water and soil conservation, and collective action in improving small farmers’ livelihoods, highlighting traditional practices like mixed cropping and agroforestry to build resilience against weather fluctuations, pests, and diseases.

The contribution of small-scale rain-fed farmers is pivotal in creating a sustainable organic food system. Through innovative practices and commitment to environmental stewardship, these farmers set a precedent for future agricultural endeavors, enhancing food security, promoting biodiversity, and fostering community resilience. Their efforts pave the way for a more sustainable and equitable food production model.

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with the audience.
