Mystik Vibes is an Indo-Jazz musical journey by Amith Nadig, Muthu Kumar, and Aman Mahajan, a meeting point where the melodic language of Carnatic and Hindustani music finds kinship with the freedom of Jazz. Beneath three distinct traditions, the musicians uncover a single, shared pulse: improvisation, emotion, breath. If music can dissolve the boundaries between such different worlds, what else might dissolve, if we listened closely enough?

Built almost entirely from original compositions, each piece carries the story of the musician who wrote it, and the friendship between all three. Every note becomes a small act of translation, one tradition speaking to another, until the differences soften and only the music remains. A short Q&A follows the performance, encouraging audiences to engage deeply with the experience.

Amith Nadig

Flute

Amith Nadig is one of India’s most compelling young flautists, a prodigy and recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, a National Award from the Government of India, recognised for bridging tradition and innovation. An A-graded artist of All India Radio, Amith trained initially under his father and guru, flautist Vidwan B.K. Anantharam, and later under Padmabhushan Dr. R.K. Srikantan, whose mentorship shaped his mastery of the Gayaki style. He has performed across the world at major international festivals. Amith seamlessly blends the soul of Karnatic music with the spontaneity of jazz, fusion, and global sounds. He also runs Musicians’ Collective, a trust he has led for over two years, organising monthly concerts that offer deserving young musicians a platform to perform, learn and grow.

Muthu Kumar

Tabla

With over 30 years in the music industry, Muthu Kumar has made a niche for himself as a tabla player and percussionist par excellence. Having studied under tabla legends Ustad Allarakha and Ustad Zakir Hussain, Muthu has travelled around the globe and performed at many prestigious stages and festivals. He has accompanied artists including Anup Jalota, Alice Coltrane, Maynard Ferguson, Bombay Jayashree, Chaka Khan, Sonu Nigam, Grammy winner Ricky Kej, and Lucky Ali. He is the founder of Rhythm Shala, a school for tabla and Indian rhythms with close to 500 students enrolled worldwide. He is the founding member of Mystik Vibes, Y Factor and Atmic Vision.
