Many Moons
An Experience of the Moon in Woven Cloth
Artist
Many Moons by Jayshree Poddar, is a multi-sensory experience of the moon in its various avatars in woven cloth. The exhibition attempts to express the spiritual through the material medium of textile art, signifying a move away from the mere functionality of fabrics to textiles as a medium of artistic expression.
The celestial body in its many moods and appearances has been crafted using a multitude of materials woven as warp and weft on modern jacquard looms at the Himatsingka Seide mill, Bangalore. An ethereal ambiance pervades the space and a surreal, mystical experience awaits.
Timings: 12:00- 8:00 pm (The artist will be present daily from 6:00-8:00pm)
