Reading between the Lines: Norms and Conventions Make the Constitution Work
DAKSH Tenth Annual Constitution Day Lecture 2021
Speakers
The Constitution works not just on the basis of the written words in the text, laws and rules, but also through a number of norms and conventions developed over time. If the unspoken agreement to follow such norms are not followed, there is a risk to the smooth functioning of various institutions.
On the occasion of Constitution Day, we will take a closer look at norms that have started breaking down over the last couple decades and constitutional challenges that arise as a result.
In collaboration with DAKSH
