Terms like Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies, Non-Fungible Tokens are par for the course currently. The crypto market touched USD 3-trillion valuation and is growing fast, surviving headwinds from Central Banks, regulators and traditional financial institutions.

Bitcoin, based on a blockchain was launched in 2011. Today there are over a 100 blockchains, with 13,000 coins, tokens, and lakhs of collectible NFTs. The crypto sector has spawned hundreds of start-ups and attracted over USD 30 billion in funding in 2021. Further, the mushrooming of crypto wallets and crypto exchanges driven by powerful advertising, has raised a bewildering array of questions in an investor’s mind today :-

How is Bitcoin different from Gold, Stocks, Currency, Forex, etc? What is the technology and economics behind Bitcoin? How secure is Bitcoin? How do I get a crypto wallet? How do crypto exchanges work? Arvind’s session will address these questions and provide a conceptual map, and a guide to operational aspects on how to start investing and how to research the crypto field.

The session will cover programmable money or smart-contract-layer-1 like Ethereum ($ETH), Binance Build-n-Build($BNB), Solana ($SOL), Terra $LUNA and Fantom $FTM which capture more value than applications in supply chain, payments, IoT and gaming; Sectors and segments by market cap, industry usage (supply chain, gaming, payments, decentralized finance DeFi); Market structure and trading venues; Broker/Dealer, Exchange, Depository, Registrar / Regulation Centralized exchanges (CEX) like Coinbase, Binance, Gemini and Dealers/Brokers like Coinswitch, WazirX, Vauld as well as decentralized (DEX) like Pancakeswap ($CAKE), Uniswap ($UNI), Anyswap ($ANY).

For the audience at this talk, there will be Q&A time for exploration of a disruptive horizontal technology and intangible economy.

Arvind Tiwary

Senior IT Executive

Arvind Tiwary is an alumnus of the Wharton Business School, IIT- Kanpur and IIM- Ahmedabad. He has 38+ years of corporate experience across functional areas, domains, disciplines and sectors and has held board level and apex management positions in India, Hong Kong and Singapore.

He is an active leader and mentor in the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem which has over 1500 start IOT start-ups. As Chair Emeritus of TiE IoTForum, he provided leadership in developing a #IoTForIndia vision. He was also IET India IoT panel lead for the IoT Security Working Group, a co-Chair for the premier #IoTNext event and a Lead Member for WG3 in the IoT4 Smart City Task Force.

For more than a decade, he has been an active DIY investor with a multi-country, multi asset approach. Currently, Arvind runs Bangalore-based firm Sang-Ennovate, which specializes in leading change and innovation in an uncertain world. A keen golfer and bibliophile, Arvind is a popular speaker and has been adjudged the best speaker in many conferences.

Asvini Kumar

Angel Investor & Mentor

Asvini Kumar is an alumnus of IIM, Bangalore (1981) and Osmania University. He has 25 years of experience in the IT services business, including 20 years as an entrepreneur. Straight after his MBA, he co-founded and ran a startup from 1981-83. After a 5-year stint with a reputed IT firm as their National Product Support Manager, he founded Thinksoft Global Services Ltd. to deliver India-based independent outsourced test services to the Global Financial services sector.

With this model being successfully established with a large Global bank as its first customer and with investment from a a UK based venture fund in 2000 Thinksoft grew to be a Global player and went public in Sept 2009 on the National Stock Exchange . In 2014 , SQS AG , a large German software testing company ,acquired Thinksoft Global Services Ltd.

During his career, he was a recipient of many academic scholarships and professional awards. Currently, Asvini has turned an Angel Investor and a Mentor to a select few start-ups in the Bangalore Area.
