Kanada Raag has its origin in Arabic and Sufi music. Indian classical music has rich cultural music forms, raagas and night melodies which have become rare to behold.Night concerts themselves are very few in number due to practical difficulties.
Saniya Patankar, along with her troupe will present an evening articulating the special theme of Night ragas. The concert will include a variety of compositions, interwoven with lucid narration.
Kanada ke Prakar hopes to create a peaceful and soothing atmosphere, leading to a meditative state of mind.

Saniya Patankar
Saniya Started learning classical vocal music at the tender age of 6 from the Late Mrs. Lilatai Gharpure. She received training in the Jaipur Atrauli Gharana from eminent Guru, Dr. Ashwini Deshpande for 14 years. She learnt Musicology under the able guidance of Dr. Arwind Thatte and Dr. Milind Malshe. She is an ‘A’ grade artiste of Doordarshan and Akashwani.
Saniya has performed Solo concerts all over India, in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Goa, Kolhapur, Karnataka, Baroda, Jaipur and New Delhi. She has also performed in 16 solo concerts in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Switzerland.

Ravindra Katoti
Born into a family of music lovers in the year 1969, Ravindra started learning Hindustani classical Harmonium at the age of eight. Since then he has been the disciple of Pandit Rambhau Bijapure.
Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy awarded him three years’ scholarship (1986-1989). He was honoured by Dr. P C Alexander, Governor, Maharashtra State, for his top performance in Yuva Sangeetotsav held at Ujjain (MP), organised by South Central Cultural Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur (1993). Bhatkande Lalitkala Academy Raipur, MP conferred upon him the title, Sur Ratna (1994). He received the Sangeet Alankar title from Akhil Bharateeya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj (1995).
Ravindra is a regular performer on AIR and Doordarshan. Many of his performances are also broadcast by private TV channels, FM radios and internet radios.
