The rich melodic voice of the sarod, complemented by the evocative textures of the handpan and percussion.
Journeys in Sound is an immersive musical experience by brothers Drupad and Neeraj Mistry. From quiet moments in nature to vibrant cultural encounters, their travels become a sonic voyage across landscapes, memories, and emotions. Each piece unfolds as a conversation between melody and rhythm, carefully crafted compositions giving way to spontaneous musical dialogue, evolving organically in the moment.
A unique journey, for performers and audience alike, this session is an invitation to listen, wander, and discover

Drupad Mistry
Drupad Mistry grew up in a family of musicians and has become an accomplished sarod player alongside his career in design. An avid traveller, he loves connecting with artists across cultures. He began formal training young under his father, Bhargav Mistry, later studying under Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. He trained formally at Surnandan Bharati, Kolkata, earning a gold medal in his final year. Drupad has performed widely across India and abroad—including England, France, Hong Kong, Greece, Scotland’s Fringe Festival, South Korea’s World Music Festival, and Italy, where he performed at the Indian Consulate. He has also composed music for film and festival soundtracks.
Neeraj Mistry
Neeraj Mistry has been drawn to percussion from an early age, training under Pandit Ramkrishna Bose from age five and later studying tabla formally at Sarbabhartiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad, Kolkata, passing with distinction. He has performed widely, including as a Yuva Kalakar at Ahmedabad’s Saptak Festival, at Udaipur’s Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Samaroh and City Palace, the Dhrupad Samaroh, Jaipur Kala Mahotsav, and Bangalore’s Indian Music Experience. A recipient of the Udayman Kalakar award, he performs alongside his father and brother. Beyond tabla, Neeraj plays handpan, pioneering a signature tabla-handpan fusion featured on two international albums.
