“A Triptych of Memories from Rajasthan” is a meticulously curated collection of three captivating video art pieces that serve as a time machine, transporting viewers into the artist’s personal realm of memories. These films deftly explore themes such as caste, gender, memory, and migration, all conveyed through a deadpan humorous style.

The collection ingeniously combines archival footage from a Rajasthani wedding and intimate home videos, providing poignant insights into identity and nostalgia. It celebrates the resilience of the community by showcasing the profound power of joy amidst adversity.

Collectively, these films weave a mesmerizing mood that sparks important conversations about traditions, identity, resilience, and the unrestrained playfulness of cinematic form in storytelling.

The screenings will be followed by a conversation with the artist.

Garden of Reflection is a monthly series curated by Sandbox Collective that is imagined as a space to gather, to come together, to read, watch, listen and share. The session is free, participatory and open to all.
