In this lecture titled From Gutenberg Bible to 4D Printing, scholar Shlomo Magdassi will present new developments in functional 2D and 3D printing, and the emerging field of 4D. He will also present about its application in various fields, including energy, biomedicine, electronics, as well as share his experience in establishing new startup companies.

Shlomo Magdassi is a professor at the Institute of Chemistry of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He joined the Hebrew University faculty in 1986. He was the head of Casali institute of Applied Chemistry (2010-2014) and the Head of the Institute of Chemistry (2016-2019). Currently (since 2022), he is the Director of the Center for Functional and 3D Printing, and the chairman of Asper-HUJI Innovate, the The Hebrew University’s center for innovation and entrepreneurship.
His research focuses on micro and nanomaterials and their applications in functional inks such as printed electronics, 2D, 3D and 4D printing. He is the author of over 320 publications, over 20 chapters in books, and he is the editor of 4 books (2022). Prof. Magdassi established several start up companies based on findings and developments emerging from his research.
