A Public Tête-à-Tête with the Traffic Chief

It’s a fair guess that conversations in Bengaluru has a view (normally exasperation) about Bengaluru’s traffic. But something seems to have changed for the better over the last few weeks – is it real and can it be sustained? We will understand what’s being tried, what works and what doesn’t. The session will focus on identifying the myriad pain points and seek solutions to fix them on a sustainable basis as the city continues on it’s path of unbridled growth.

MA Saleem
Dr. M.A. Saleem, IPS is the Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Bengaluru City. He holds a Masters Degree in Police Management from Osmania University (1993-1995) and a Doctorate Degree in Traffic Management from Bangalore University (2010). He joined the Indian Police Service (IPS), Karnataka Cadre in 1993. He was awarded the Republic Day President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services in 2017, the Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India Commendation Disk 2021, the I.R.T.E Prince Michael International Road Safety Award 2006 and the National Award for e-Governance, 2009-10 for exemplary usage of ICT by PSUs by the Dept. of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Government of India to name a few.
V Ravichandar
Ravichandar is the Honorary Director of the Bangalore International Centre. He has been active in urban reforms and governance for the last two decades starting with the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF) and most recently as a part of the 3-member Government Expert Committee tasked with re-imagining governance and administration for Bengaluru. Ravichandar is a self-styled Civic Evangelist and continues to tilt at wind mills in the civic space!
