Swaradhya is a Bangalore-based World Fusion Instrumental Band blending Indian classical music with contemporary western genres. Led by sitarist Ashok Ayengar, the band includes Natraj Nirvikar (piano, keys, guitar), Kapil Dalal (double bass), and Ashish Padiyar (percussion). Their repertoire spans original raga-based compositions fused with global rhythms (latin, afro, etc.), alongside fresh adaptations of Indian thumris and folk music.
This concert blends Indian Classical influences with contemporary acoustic expression to create a truly unique soundscape. Exploring emotion, memory, and nature through the voice strings, the session invites audiences into inner reflection. The concert moves from meditative stillness to rhythmic exploration in a medley of cultural influences, creating space for every listener to weave their own emotions, memories and stories into the music.

Ashok Ayengar
Ashok Ayengar is a distinguished sitarist deeply rooted in classical music, a disciple of Sarod maestro Late Pt. Rajiv Taranath, whose musical journey began at age nine. His education includes tutelage under Raj Bhan Singh (Banaras Hindu University) and Tazamul Khan (Lucknow). He has performed across India, the US, and Europe, and from 1997 to 2010 was a key member of Bangalore-based rock fusion band River. A recording artist since the age of twenty, he has collaborated with Praveen D Rao, Manjunath BC and Praveen Godkhindi, as well as Kathak dancers Maya Rao and Madhu Natraj.
Natraj Nirvikar
Natraj is a versatile pianist and keyboardist known for his mastery in both fusion and Western classical music. His musical journey began at age fourteen under the guidance of Shri Krishna. Over the years, he has been a key member of bands including Nirvikar and DEEP, consistently showcasing his ability to blend diverse musical styles.
Ashish Padiyar
Ashish Padiyar is a Hindustani classically trained percussionist and drummer who began learning tabla under Shri Prabhakar Betrabet and Pandit Amrutesh Kulkarni at age ten, laying the foundation for exploring other percussive instruments. He expanded his repertoire to include drums and percussion instruments, particularly the cajon. He has been part of bands including Project MishraM and Asleep in a Rife, and has played at music festivals across the country.
Kapil Dalal
Kapil’s musical journey began early; he started performing and teaching at seventeen across prestigious schools in Delhi, later pursuing formal training in drums and percussion. An active presence in the live music scene, he collaborates with prominent artists, drawing on a blend of Blues, Jazz, R&B, Funk, and Soul. He has performed with notable acts including Monsoon Circuit, Rubina Robinson, and the Bangalore Symphony Ensemble.
