Dr. Nagesh gives daily, free, consultations in Mumbai. He takes care of HIV positive patients who cannot afford anti-HIV treatments. These men, women and children face the disease as well as rejection from society. Dr. Nagesh helps them take stock of their financial, emotional and family situation. In the privacy of his office, masks fall, revealing each person’s contradictions, lies and deep feelings.
The filmmakers Vincent and Henry will join us virtually for a conversation after the screening.
Speakers

Vincent Detours
Vincent Detours studied computer and cognitive sciences before obtaining a PhD in biology in 1996. His research on mathematical modeling of the immune system were conducted at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Santa Fe Institute (United States). He is now associate professor and researcher in bioinformatics and cancer biology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (visit his science page).

Dominique Henry
Dominique Henry studied biology before engaging in film-making. He graduated from INSAS a Belgian film school and works since then as a cameraman on documentary films.

Sunanda Bhat
Sunanda Bhat is a filmmaker. Her interest lies in representing people living on the margins of an intricate and stratified society, while looking for ways to bring in textures of landscape through layers of their lives in non-fiction films. Her films have screened at various international film festivals and won several awards. She was an artist-in-residence at Pepper House Residency, hosted by Kochi Muziris Biennale and is a trustee of Vikalp Bengaluru. Sunanda lives and works in Bangalore.
