For children aged 11-14 years.

‘Dance a Tale’ is a fun filled interactive session, by artist and educator, Prachi Saathi. Story telling is a brilliant tool to develop a child’s imagination and tap into their creativity. Using the idiom of Bharatanatyam and the voice training techniques, kids will delve into the world of stories and characters!

Classical dance is essentially a unique form of storytelling using hand gestures, facial expressions and body movements. What excites children most is stories, especially those that have exciting characters that do interesting things. Our epics are replete with such amazing stories and characters, some of which are unimaginable. By diving into the rich treasure trove of these stories through a rich art form such as Bharatanatyam; children get a sneak peek into a creative and exciting world where they examine a tale through visual methods, relying on their own perception.

The objective of the workshop is to first relax the body and mind using breath and bring awareness on how one can apply certain techniques to communicate using the body, facial expressions and voice. Some fun games and activities that will touch upon concepts of Navarasas and animal gaits.

The world of animation also excites children. Having an experience of 30 years in the field of voicing for Animated Features, Prachi will also be imparting some voice exercises and techniques to use voice effectively for communication.
