Blue comedy is a style of comedy that is off-colour, risqué, indecent or profane, largely about sex. It often contains profanity and/or sexual imagery that may shock and offend some audience members. The colour blue is also associated with the anti-caste movement signifying the colour of the sky, a representation of non-discrimination, that under the sky, everyone is believed to be equal. Which brings us to Blue Material, a Stand-Up Comedy show with an all Dalit lineup. This often takes place as a 90 minute show, including 3 to 4 comedians. Our show is grounded within the personal as political; we use humour to highlight the realties of caste and intersecting forms of oppression.

The show will run feature 3 comics from the Blue Material lineup who perform in English & Hindi.
In collaboration with Maraa Collective
Over the last few years Maraa has been building a body of work exploring ideas of self expression through humour through the form stand-up comedy. Working with new comics from diverse backgrounds in Maharashtra and Karnataka we have come to see the potential of the form as a conduit for new perspectives in new tonalities through humour.
