All of us are feeling the impact of climate change and unless we all unite to take immediate steps the earth could soon face drastic calamities. It is vital that we understand and protect our biodiversity. The days of economic development vs environmental protection are over. The pandemic demonstrated that!

We now need to innovate and rethink ways to simultaneously improve both, our economic and ecological security.

Bittu Sahgal

Activist, Writer & Founder, Sanctuary Nature Foundation | Editor, Sanctuary Asia

Bittu Sahgal, the Editor of Sanctuary Asia and the Founder of the Sanctuary Nature Foundation and the one million strong Kids for Tigers program, is one of India’s strongest and most eloquent voices for nature preservation, climate change mitigation and wildlife conservation. Born in 1947, he has made it his life’s mission to direct world leaders away from short-term development objectives that could compromise the ability of the nation to sustain its population of 1.3 billion people in the decades ahead. He believes that India’s ecological foundation is the bedrock on which the nation’s economic foundation sits. He also believes that climate change poses the greatest ever threat to the stability of the Indian nation.
