In this lecture delivered by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, the central theme shall revolve around the aspirations and challenges that India must face in its path to development. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.

Rajiv Kumar

Former Vice Chairman of NITI Ayog

Dr. Rajiv Kumar, former Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog and current Chairman of Pahle India Foundation, has a broad background in academia, government, and multilateral institutions. With a Ph.D. in Economics from Lucknow University and a D.Phil from Oxford University, he has held pivotal roles, including Director & CEO of ICRIER, Professor at IIFT, and Senior Fellow at CPR.

In the government, he served as an Economic Advisor at DEA, Ministry of Finance, and Senior Consultant at BICP, Ministry of Industry. His international experience includes a decade at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila. Dr. Kumar has also contributed to the private sector as Chief Economist of CII and Secretary General of FICCI.

He holds key positions as Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Giri Institute of Development Studies, Lucknow. Additionally, he is a Member of the Global Leadership Council at GASP, New York, and serves as a Director of Parley India Foundation.
