Neeli Paradé is a showcase of four short films made by Bahujan filmmakers under Neelavarana Media. It celebrates the lifestyle of Bahujans along with engaging with the filmmakers and discussion.

Neelavarana is an Ambedkarite artists’ forum comprising of filmmakers, writers, artists, actors & musicians. Our main objective is to build a platform for Bahujan artists in Kannada.

The filmmakers will engage in a conversation, moderated by Vijeta Kumar, after the screening.

Habba Haridina Suggi Shivaratri tells the story of two 10-year-old boys when one such fake news circulates through a tiny village in the Western Ghats of Karnataka.

Ajay Tambe is a filmmaker and actor from Bengaluru. Through self and art, he likes to study human inner turmoil and contradictions.

Writer & Filmmaker

Naveen Tejaswi is a filmmaker from Hosabale, Shivamogga. He is a writer, lyricist, photographer and editor. He has written and directed the short films Habba Haridina Suggi Shivarathri, Bidugade and Vadyana. His films were screened at international film festivals in India, Russia and USA, and they won awards. He has written lyrics for R Madhavan’s directorial debut Rocketry’s Kannada version.

MK Abhilash

MK Abhilash is a Bangalore based filmmaker. He also produces music which is a blend of 8bit/Chiptune and electronica under the moniker “Murane Athma”. Besides this, he thinks he can be tagged as a poet too. He wishes to record waking dreams into a physical storage space one day.

Vijeta Kumar teaches Communicative English at St. Joseph’s University, Bengaluru. She also writes at rumlolarum.com
