Film by Ganesh Katara | B·LORE by BIC | Round 2
On 3rd Main Road, Hoysala Nagar, Ramamurthy Nagar, Bengaluru, lives a Peepul tree. This film is about that Peepal tree’s daylife.
The filmmaker observes and presents the tree as a space for gathering; personal meetings, friend’s hanging out, a point for hailing auto-rickshaws, and a waiting spot for cabs and school buses. The locals have built a temple next to the tree, as the Peepal tree is considered sacred in India. Through the film we are also made aware of the importance of these big and broad trees in the city for small businesses.
