Make Your Own Palm Leaf Keychains

This hands-on workshop teaches participants to craft their own keychains from natural palm leaf. Using simple, sustainable materials and traditional hand techniques, participants replace factory-made, mass-produced objects with something made entirely by your own hands. Can the things we carry leave no waste?
Beyond the craft itself, the session is an invitation to rethink everyday consumption, one small, handmade object at a time. Finished keychains make thoughtful gifts as well as personal keepsakes, carrying the message forward to friends and family. All materials provided and participants take their creations home.

Azarudeen
Azarudeen is a palmleaf artisan and sustainability advocate, dedicated to preserving traditional palmleaf weaving. After leaving a thirteen-year career in IT, he explored conscious, sustainable living, and went on to start Saarolai Team with artisan friends in the rural outskirts of Chennai to revive traditional palmleaf craft and adapt it for modern life. Today, he creates toys, jewellery, containers, baskets and trinkets from palmleaves.
