Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, or Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease, has long struck fear into the hearts of young women and their anxious parents. This talk unpacks the physiology of ovarian function, exploring why it occurs, why it affects other systems in the body, and what its long-term consequences really are. Recently renamed Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Disease, the condition is entering a new chapter of understanding. Why is this a welcome change?

When people understand how their bodies work, they’re better equipped to take care of their own health. Aimed at empowering young women, people with a uterus and ovaries, and their supporters, the session explores whether there is a cure and if lifestyle changes can really make a difference.
