How many faces can a god wear, and how many can we see within ourselves?

Murta Maheswara is an exploration of Lord Shiva beyond myth and ritual, a journey through the shifting facets of a god who embodies creation and dissolution, stillness and motion, silence and sound. In this performance, Shiva emerges not as an abstract deity, but as a living force: carefree, truthful, and boundless, mirroring the many layers of our own being.

Through three deeply symbolic themes, the performance reveals Shiva’s essence:
Pashupati, the ancient lord of all creatures, seen in the Harappan seals surrounded by trusting animals, both fierce and tender.
Shiva–Shakti, the eternal union of energy and awareness, where creation and destruction entwine in cosmic rhythm.
Dhwani–Pratidhwani, the origin and echo of sound itself, born from the beat of Shiva’s damaru and reverberating through the universe.

In tracing these facets, Murta Maheswara becomes a meditation on divinity, inviting us to listen, to feel, and perhaps even to find Shiva within ourselves.
