Bahinabai Chaudhari – The Voice of the Soil
Poetry, Womanhood & Resilience through Bharatanatyam
Performers
From the furrows of the earth rises a voice: quiet, wise, and enduring.
Bahinabai: Echoes of the Earth is a Bharatanatyam performance that brings to life the deeply moving poetry of Bahinabai Chaudhari, a farmer-poet whose simple, profound verses speak of toil, tenderness, and inner strength.
Conceptualized and performed by Vaishnavi Dhore, this piece blends classical dance with Marathi ovi (verse), folk rhythms, and classical music to reimagine Bahinabai’s world. With evocative storytelling and expressive movement, this performance bridges the rural and the urban, the past and the present.
For the everyday woman is a philosopher, poet, and pioneer!
