Music of the Kirana Gharana
Meend, Raga, Sargam & Swara
Performers
A single note can carry centuries of devotion.
The Kirana Gharana tradition of Hindustani classical music reveals itself slowly. Like dawn breaking across a silent sky, it is characterised by a meditative approach. Known for its graceful meend (glides) and evocative sargams (musical phrases), this musical evening invites deep listening and quiet awe.
Acclaimed vocalist Pandit Milind Chittal brings the essence of this lineage to life. With his masterful control and emotive phrasing, he leads audiences through the delicate unfolding of ragas, where each swara (note) holds a world of feeling, and every silence has meaning.
This is more than a performance; it’s a conversation across time, held in melody and breath.
Let the music find its way to where words cannot reach.
