B•Lore Season 3 Screenings

[email protected]In July 2024, Bangalore International Centre launched the third season of B·LORE, an open call initiative inviting filmmakers to document fresh perspectives of our city. The call welcomed diverse narratives – from cultural heritage to civic engagement, from environmental conservation to personal stories – all aimed at creating a collective audio-visual memory of Bengaluru.
From numerous submissions received from across the city, eight compelling films were selected by a three-member jury. These films, each under 5 minutes, capture unique facets of urban life in Bengaluru, telling stories of community action, environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and personal connections to the city.
The selected films will be screened in two segments.
Each segment will be followed by conversations with the filmmakers, exploring their perspectives on documenting Bengaluru’s evolving narrative.

Filmmakers
Neha Nair
Neha Nair is an aspiring filmmaker, storyteller, and third-year computer science student from Bangalore. A passionate cinephile, she believes in the power of stories to bridge perspectives and spark conversations. Ripples, her debut film, reflects this belief, bringing human experiences to life with warmth and heart. Beyond filmmaking, Neha is deeply curious about the product space, and fascinated by the intersection of technology, creativity, and businesses. She loves exploring new places, finding inspiration in nature, and discovering stories in unexpected corners of the world. A devoted foodie and ice cream aficionado, she sees stories everywhere – in films, people’s journeys, or the shared experience of a great meal.

Aakash Amish
Aakash Amish, a software engineer at Google Maps, explores storytelling through hobbyist filmmaking, and is always eager to learn and hone new skills. His interests span cats, chess, cinema, and a diverse range of other passions that don’t all conveniently start with ‘c’.

Atheeva Reji Kumar
Bharath Raj
Bharath Raj is a 1st year MA (Kannada comparative study) student with a passion for writing, reading books, and drawing. In addition to his academic pursuits, he works as a part-time tattoo artist and creates commission art pieces using charcoal pencil drawings. Currently, he is involved in managing the script and acting in the play “Porakeya Haadu,” which is based on the real-life experiences of pourakarmikas. The play is written by Du Saraswathi and directed by Lakshman KP.
Bharath’s film in B•Lore Season 3 is Case and Bobbin (ಕೇಸು-ಬಾಬಿನ್).
Shivadhara M
Shivadhara M is a Final year B.E.(Biotechnology) student with a passion for Film Making and Photography.He has Co Written a short film called Blind Birds(2024) and Worked as Cinematography in few other short films which are ready to be released. He also worked as Editor in few other short films and Music video.

MK Abhilash
MK Abhilash is an audio-visual artist from Bangalore.

Shraddha Hiremath
Shraddha Hiremath is a third year B.E student pursuing Industrial Engineering and Management and equally passionate for filmmaking.
She has written-acted-directed short films called, Shanka Garbha and Dhragu. She has acted and also worked as screenplay writer in other short films.

Anvika
Anvika studies in the 2nd standard and is passionate about Bharatanatyam. Anvika is part of the team that made Case and Bobbin (ಕೇಸು-ಬಾಬಿನ್).
Meghana Kankara
Meghana Kankara is a Illustrator and animator. Also a football fanatic and a hip hop head!

Mahishaa
Mahishaa is an Ambedkarite filmmaker and curator based in Bangalore, working on producing counterculture narratives rooted in the city.
His films navigate intersections of caste, gender & masculinity. He is also the founder of Neelavarana, an Ambedkarite artist collective that produces short films, music videos & documentaries focusing on Bahujan stories made by and for the people from the DBA community.
Mahishaa’s work has been showcased internationally in places like Melbourne, Berlin and across India.
He is part of the team that made Case and Bobbin (ಕೇಸು-ಬಾಬಿನ್).
Naveen Tejaswi
Naveen Tejaswi is a first generation student from Hosabale, a village in Soraba Taluk. He is a writer, filmmaker and musician. He makes films with his villagers. Over a hundred of his villagers have been part of his films. His films were screened at film festivals across the globe and won awards. He writes in Kannada and English. His essay ‘Track 01’ has won the Barbra Naidu Award for Personal Essay 2023. It’s also included in the 3rd year BA English syllabus of St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru. He is the winner of prestigious Toto Award for Kannada Creative Writing 2024. He tells stories of his village through his writing and cinema. He also runs a community learning centre – Bheemashaale – in his village and works with 200 children.

Mayur J Raol
Mayur has been a salesman, production assistant, creative director, and filmmaker. From his early schooling in Hamilton (Canada), MBA in India and his film-making course in London, Mayur has pursued a variety of interests and hobbies. He is passionate about story-telling through the medium of motion picture. Mayur is particularly fond of reading true-crime, anthropology and fiction from different regions of the world.
Mayur wrote and directed Mini-Brazil.
Amina Khan
A creative writer by profession, Amina has produced short films and trains a critical eye on all edits.

Santhosh G
A native of Bangalore, Santhosh is a Computer Science Engineer by education. After nearly five years at Tech Mahindra, three of them in London, he quit to pursue cinema. Having assisted on many feature films, he began making short films in 2011. His work has received both popular and critical appreciation.
Santhosh is part of team Mini-Brazil.
Kumar
Kumar has spent over fifteen years in the Kannada film industry. He worked as the DOP on this project and is also an expert Gimble operator.

Rahel
Rahel is an aspiring filmmaker and an all-round art enthusiast who enjoys creating fun projects with like-minded cool people.

Rishabh Shetty
Rishabh (they/them) is a game designer from Pune with a degree in Digital Media Arts from Srishti. They enjoy watching horror films, working with pixel art, and baking cookies. Their artwork often explores themes of queerness, neurodivergence, and isolation.

Vaisakh Jose
Vaisakh is a self-taught visual storyteller with a passion for motion pictures, shaped by early exposure to films. With experience freelancing and working in India’s video production industry, he constantly explores diverse aesthetics and perspectives, finding fulfilment in both shooting and editing, pushing creative boundaries.

Abhijay
Abhijay is a freelance sound engineer who aims to craft high-quality audio for various projects. Involved in mixing, sound design, and sync sound, he has a passion for precision and creativity, with an aim to ensure the sound resonates with the vision.

Chaitanya
Chaitanya is a Sync Sound Recordist/ Production Mixing Engineer and an Audio Consultant for Films and Commercials. With an in-depth industry experience of over 6 years and a great practical knowledge of the craft, he captures the essence of a film sonically.

Meghana
Meghana is a Cinematographer and co-founder of 1G4T productions a Bangalore based production house that’s all about telling compelling stories. She’s got a knack for capturing raw authentic moments, making her an expert in shooting documentaries that leave an impact. Some of her work include ‘My Daughter Joined a Cult’ on discovery+ and ‘Rainbow Rishta’ on Prime Video among others.

Vyshnav
Vyshnav is a self-taught filmmaker, editor and has produced several independent films. How work centers around Bangalore’s Hip Hop visuals. Currently is the best employee at a big company!

Harshini Boyalla
Harshini is an actor, folk artist and once upon a time an architect based in Bangalore , exploring the intersection of performance, gender and design. Sipping fruit juices, dog ears and a cat sleeping on her makes her day!

Maahir Mohiuddin
Maahir Mohiuddin has spent the past several years working with various theatre groups in Bangalore, gaining expertise in backstage management, acting, and assistant directing. His experience extends to short films, ad films, and voice-over projects for animated tele-films and advertisements. He has performed across Bangalore and once in Mumbai. In addition to his work in theatre and film, Maahir is deeply passionate about writing and actively takes on diverse writing assignments.
