An hour with the master storyteller, featuring a showcase of films and visual narratives!

World renowned animation film maker-director Suresh Eriyat, is the founder of Mumbai based film production house Studio Eeksaurus. A recipient of numerous international awards, Eriyat is a storyteller extraordinaire. In 2015, his film, Fateline, bagged the prestigious Annecy Cristal Award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, considered the Oscars for animators, the only one for India till date.

In his talk, Eriyat will share his storytelling magic. He will share snippets from his film repertoire, distil and discuss his five-step process – Listen/ Observe/ Record/ Mash-up/ Share! A Q&A with the audience will follow.

Suresh Eriyat

A graduate of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad – Eriyat is a film pioneer who has disrupted the world of advertising and animation film making in India, with over 500 films to his credit, through his exceptional craft and innovative storytelling methods. He was the first to introduce clay animation commercials in India. He created the Simpu series for Channel V and the MTV Poga series.

Eriyat draws inspiration from his childhood memories, everyday life in Mumbai, and frequent travels around the globe.

Susmita Mohanty

Cultural ambassador, Space Entrepreneur

Susmita Mohanty is a renaissance woman whose work and entrepreneurial career cuts across the realms of space, architecture, design, policy, diplomacy. Her work in reflects her multifaceted educational journey—she trained in engineering and product design in India, studied space sciences in France, and went on to co-found the crossover discipline of space architecture, in which she pursued a PhD in Sweden.

Susmita’s career began with NASA and Boeing before she turned entrepreneur – co-founding companies across three continents: MOONFRONT in San Francisco, LIQUIFER in Vienna, and EARTH2ORBIT in Bangalore. More recently, she has turned her attention to addressing global concerns of safety, security, and sustainability in space through dialogue and diplomacy through Spaceport SARABHAI, a forward-thinking space policy think-tank she founded.

Susmita is also deeply invested in fostering cross-disciplinary innovation. Together with her husband, Siddharth Das, she co-founded MAD Salon+Lab, a cultural platform that bridges art, science, and the humanities through collaborative projects.
