Sitar Saga traces the profound musical journey of three generations of sitar masters, each contributing to the rich legacy of the Etawah Gharana. From the compositions and musical ideas in traditional ragas that laid the foundation, through the mid-century innovations, to the contemporary interpretations that define today’s sound, this concert tries to capture the essence of the sitar as it is today.

Featuring Siddharth Garud on sitar, a student of the Etawah Gharana, and joined by Roopak Kallurkar on tabla, this concert will be a deep dive into the essence of Indian classical music. This demonstrative performance will reflect the evolution of the Gharana’s music style.

This concert will feature morning ragas that honour the past, present, and future of sitar music within the Etawah Gharana, celebrating the beauty and spirit of the sitar.
