Artistes
In this session, MoonArra, an Indian Classical, Jazz and World Fusion ensemble based in Bengaluru, India, presents the imagined voices of trees though music in a 90 minute devised concert production.
Founded by Guitarist-Composer Jagadeesh M. R and Vocalist-Songwriter Madhuri Jagadeesh, MoonArra meaning ‘three streams’ was formed in 2009 as a fusion of the collective influences of its core members.
This concert will celebrate a confluence of all music – ancient chants and hymns, the ancient Indian Ragas, the creative improvisational element of jazz, the power of the human voice, the spoken word and movement, the harmony of instruments; all coming together in one concert. In other words, the continuous connection of the ancient with the modern. Instruments such as the soprano saxophone blending with the harmonium and having a dialogue with the other instruments such as guitars, percussion.
