Alternative Medicine
Understanding the Trio
Speakers
An event focussing on the coexistence of alternative medicines and modern medicine.
This panel discussion will highlight the role and popularity of homeopathic medicine, ayurvedic medicine and allopathic medicine and the coexistence of all three approaches in today’s world, while touching upon the introduction of “western medicine” in India. The discussion will also address the role of home remedies and how they are deep rooted in one’s culture and family life, while addressing where the trust lies amongst different generations, thinking about the varying perspectives people may have about what doctor they trust with their health.
The discussion will perhaps evoke thoughts about the future of medicine in India, with contrasting medical practices to universal systems like in the UK, whilst thinking about the potential limits of alternative medicine.
