The session will begin with an introduction to the practice of Yoga as holistic and therapeutic. It is a means to wellness first and fitness will follow. With this introduction the participants will be taken through the practice of Ashtanga Yoga primary series.
The series demonstrated will be chosen keeping the participants and general age group in mind. There need not be any restrictions in the people coming in. The sequence will be set appropriately.
As the asanas flow, the facilitator will speak about how to identify and be aware of the general imbalances in the body and how to create an awareness and address the issue.
The routine will have a Warm-up, Asana Practice and a cool down in the first set (1 hour). After which a more subtle practice of Pranayama will be introduced, while the facilitator explains the salient features of each Pranayama and when and how to do it and integrate into a daily routine (30 mins).
A Q&A will follow as the main aim of the session is to inspire and encourage participants to understand yoga as a lifestyle, and not a “just another stretch”.
It has always been the facilitator, Yamini’s endeavour to introduce traditional Yoga as its benefits are immense. The right way of understanding the scripture and practicing it with awareness is the key to enjoy those benefits.
Note: Please bring a yoga mat along with you and wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
