Queer Poets Collective formed to celebrate & discuss poetry written by Queer individuals in Bangalore, to document queer voices and experiences.

Conceptualised by Rumi Harish and Dadapeer Jyman, the intent of this monthly travelling gathering is to encourage young poets to learn and contribute to queer history by memories, experiences and imagination.

This month the gathering is at Bangalore International Centre and the poet in focus is Chandini Gagana.

Poets are encouraged to read poems at the gathering.

Chandini Gagana

Poet, Co-Founder & Director, Payana

Chandini Gagana is a Kannada poet. She is a founding member of Payana a transgender support group in Bangalore, Three Wheels United, an organisation of autorikshaw drivers and a longstanding activist in the field of human rights and HIV health. She is an award-winning poet and her work is taught at several Universities. Her poems are part of ‘The World That Belongs To Us’ An Anthology of Queer Poetry From South Asia.
