The Hyderabad based Warsi brothers, Nazeer Ahmed Khan and Naseer Ahmed Khan, have been immersed in the soundscapes of Qawwali since birth. Their musicality is inextricably linked to the genealogy of the art form of Qawwali. The Warsi brothers are flag bearers of the ‘gayaki’ tradition of the Delhi gharana known for its melody and mesmeric improvisations.
Tracing their ancestry from Khwaja Mohinuddin Chishti, to Mughal courts, to the court of the Nizam of Hyderabad, the Warsi brothers are inheritors of a rich cultural repository. Their musical repertoire is textured with many histories and stories and has woven in contemporary influences. They sing compositions of Amir Khusro, Bulle Shah, weaver poet Kabir Das and many others
Together with their troupe, the Warsi brothers preserve and carry on their 900 year old tradition of Qawwali and are renowned for their traditional Sufiana Qawwali .

Warsi Brothers
Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi were born in Hyderabad. The brothers received their training in music from their father Ustad Zaheer Ahmed Khan Warsi & grand father Padmasri Aziz Ahmed Khan Warsi who were both celebrated Qawwals and classical singers.
Descendants of disciples of Hazrat Amir Khusro (RH) and Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya (RH), the Warsi brothers belong to the Qawwal Bacchon or Delhi gharana.
Their ancestor Allama-e-Mousiqui Mohammed Siddiq Khan Sahab was Royal Classical Singer of King Nizam of Hyderabad. His Uncle Miyan Taanras Khan Sahab was Royal Classical Singer of The Mughal Court.
The Delhi gharana is noted for its melody and improvisation and the Warsi brothers are recognised specially for their traditional Sufiana Qawwali, Ghazal, Thumri, Bhajan and classical Bandish.
They are featured frequently in the media including All India Radio and several television programmes and have released many audio and video albums of qawwali compositions.
Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi jointly received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for their contribution to Qawwali in 2014.
