Yakshagaana Utsava
Two Narratives, Two Performances
Yakshagana is a traditional folk theater form that originated in the coastal regions of Karnataka, India. The word “Yakshagana” is derived from the Sanskrit words “yaksha,” which refers to a class of nature spirits, and “gana,” which means song. This traditional art form combines elements of dance, music, dialogue, costume, make-up, and stagecraft.
Sri Jabbar Samo and the Karnataka Mahila Yakshagana Group explore different aspects of the story in two performances.

This is a BIC Elsewhere event.
While the majority of our events find a home at our premises in Domlur, BIC Elsewhere represents our commitment to bringing conversations, arts, and culture directly to diverse audiences. Through this initiative, we collaborate with various venues, extending the reach of our events beyond our own space. These partnerships not only breathe life into our gatherings but also play a crucial role in cultivating an environment for the flourishing of arts and culture in the city.
