Shakti Sangeet
A Tribute to Women Composers
Performers
Shakti Sangeet offers a curated presentation of musical compositions by female composers from both historical and contemporary periods, spanning various genres within Hindustani Classical Music, Vachanas, and Bhajans.
The event will feature morning and afternoon ragas aligned with the temporal cycles outlined in the samay chakra. This presents a distinctive opportunity to experience ragas that are less commonly performed in concert settings, primarily due to the prevalence of evening performances.
The program will encompass bandishes from the Hindustani Classical tradition, bhajans attributed to Mira, and Vachanas composed by Akkamadevi.
