Date: January 22 | Monday
Time: 4:30pm – 6pm
Venue: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Bannerghatta Road

IIM Bangalore’s architecture, envisioned by renowned architect B V Doshi, is a blend of tradition and modernity. Doshi’s design philosophy harmoniously integrates the institution’s physical space with its educational ethos.

The campus reflects an understanding of history while maintaining a contemporary relevance. The buildings, characterised by clean lines and open spaces, embody a seamless coexistence of past and present. Doshi’s intention to eliminate visual barriers and the use of natural materials, foster an inclusive environment where unity prevails over division.

This walk through by Bijoy Ramachandran of Hundredhands, will bring out some of the key features of Doshi’s work and highlight what makes IIMB’s design, one that transcends time.

With this walk, we wish to celebrate the life and work of B V Doshi who passed away on January 24, 2023.

This is a BIC Elsewhere Event.

While the majority of our events find a home at our premises in Domlur, BIC Elsewhere represents our commitment to bringing conversations, arts, and culture directly to diverse audiences. Through this initiative, we collaborate with various venues, extending the reach of our events beyond our own space. These partnerships not only breathe life into our gatherings but also play a crucial role in cultivating an environment for the flourishing of arts and culture in the city.
