Bengaluru, a city known for its favourable weather and abundant tree cover is a popular cycling hub, with residents enjoying the experience of cycling for various reasons. Despite the city’s infrastructure being unfriendly to cyclists, citizens and civil society organisations are actively promoting cycling. Formal open cycle days, car-free Sundays, and cyclathons have become part of the city’s cultural fabric. This short film explores the different cycling practices in Bengaluru, focusing on three distinct user groups: those cycling for livelihood, daily commute, and leisure. Cycling in Bengaluru is not just a mode of transportation but a statement of identity, community, and shared aspirations.
