Books have the power and ability to transport and immerse us into times not lived in, be in places not been to, savour food not eaten, befriend people we haven’t met and live lives we haven’t lived! They let us live vicariously through the writings of others.

Join Rama Vennelakanti this Saturday and explore books that invoke a feelings of nostalgia for a time you’ve never known (Anemoia), a nostalgic longing for a place which can never be revisited (Hiraeth) and itchy feet (Fernweh).

You can bring your own book or choose one from the collection at the library, pick a cosy spot and read with us for 90 minutes. Post this, spend a few minutes chatting with us about your read.

This event is a part of BIC’s Programmes at the Library.

BIC Library Programmes are designed to reshape the BIC Library into a community-centered space. Our primary goal is to curate sessions that cater to the diverse interests and ages within our library community. Through this, we aim to provide a welcoming platform for experimentation, turning the library into a dynamic space that goes beyond traditional book-related activities.

We also encourage active participation from our community members. If you have event ideas or proposals that align with our vision, please reach out to us at collab@bangaloreinternationalcentre.org
