Maṇṇina Makkaḷu | ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು (Children of the Soil) is a short documentary on the generational potter community of the Kumbaras residing at Pottery Town, Bengaluru. The Kumbaras were forced to migrate here from Tamil Nadu by the British in the early 1900s, and have since made Bengaluru their home. The film delves into the challenges faced by them on a daily basis and highlights why they still choose to do what they do, and with grace.
