Namma Traffic Tales | B·LORE by BIC

Film by Shivani Sankar | B·LORE by BIC | Round 2

In the process of making this film the filmmaker recalls her childhood routine of spending 2.5 hours a day on a school bus from HSR to Koramangala. Over the years she has grown accustomed to the comfort of a 1-hour journey in the confines of a car and a mobile shining on her face the whole time to subdue the pains of travel. A few months ago she decided to challenge her routine and attempted to use public transport for all her city travels.

This short film is a culmination of these experiences shot on her mobile phone during her journeys to and from various stations in Bengaluru. The film highlights the infrastructural and organisational issues with public transportation in Bengaluru, but also highlights the stories of people involved in the journey. It is a humorous and romantic take on Bengaluru’s infamous traffic.
