DESCRIPTION:Learn to adorn by hand\, one mirror and one stitch at a time! \nThis hands-on workshop introduces the Lambadi tradition of mirror embroidery\, an art that transforms fabric into a shimmering record of beauty\, heritage\, and pride. Participants will learn to attach mirrors to cloth using traditional stitches and motifs\, guided directly by artisans of the Porgai Artisans Association from Sittilingi Valley\, Tamil Nadu. \nTraditionally practiced by Lambadi women to mark textiles with identity and status\, this embroidery has been preserved across generations. The workshop is open to complete beginners and welcomes anyone curious about craft\, culture\, or new ways to personalize a garment.
