SUMMARY:Giving Shape to the Inner World
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis evening explores how giving a feeling a shape\, as a character\, an image\, or a letter\, can help us understand our inner worlds. Based on the book Monsters of My Mind\, the session moves between conversation and hands-on making\, asking how creativity can help us say what words alone cannot. What would your monster look like? \nMembers of the panel read scenes from the book\, opening a conversation on how comics\, humour\, and absurdity make difficult experiences easier to look at. Inspired by Leonora Carrington’s Surrealist Survival Kit\, postcards are shared\, with five prompts: courage\, joy\, adventure\, love\, and possibility. The evening closes with a short letter to a monster of your own\, with no need to name or explain it. That which feels deeply personal\, need not be isolating. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn collaboration with: \n    \nVenue: Library\n\n\nHow Creativity Helps Us Make Sense of What We Feel\nRSVP here (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdRzd9T_87RZHW-bg5FnIEIXIYYEbrlbzOekOSl6Gg0RA1n5g/viewform?usp=publish-editor)\n*Speakers*: Tanya Sudheer\, Vivekananda Roy Ghatak\, Riya Nagendra\, Abhik Bhattacherji\n*Event Categories*: Design\, Visual Arts
